Moreton Bay Regional Councillor for Division 12, Adrian Raedel, has taken up the extreme sport of road cycling, and it turns out it is somewhat dangerous!

Mr Raedel is putting himself through all this with the main goal of Riding to Conquer Cancer this year.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer organisation describe the challenge like this: Think of it as a history-making opportunity for you to do something big about cancer, something epic. Like cycling for two days throughout the picturesque countryside of Queensland - August 17-18, 2013.

Sure, it sounds like a lot... and it's meant to be. The conquest of cancer is a monumental task and won't be easy. But make no mistake, this event isn't just for athletes or cycling enthusiasts. The Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer® benefiting the Queensland Institute of Medical Research is for anyone who wants to challenge themselves for a great cause and that is what Mr Raedel is doing. Even people who haven't ridden since they were twelve.
