Mayor Sutherland referred himself to the CMC in November 2010 over his purchase of 2ha of land at the corner of Paradise and Morayfield roads, Burpengary.
A statement released by Mayor Sutherland today said "lets finish the job".
"Today I announce that I will be running for re-election as Mayor of the magnificent Moreton Bay Region," Mayor Allan Sutherland said in a statement.
"This is community that I love (sic). It is an organisation I care for. And it is a job that I pour my heart and soul into," Mayor Sutherland said.
Mayor Sutherland also used the statement to attack fellow Mayoral candidate and Division Two Councillor, Chris Whiting.
"To those people who wish to discredit me and my family I say - you better be ready for the fight of your life.
"So while my opponent will be working hard to sling mud at me and the many achievements of this Council I intend to spend my time outlining my positive vision for the future," Mayor Sutherland.
This comes after Mayor Sutherland attacked Mayoral candidate Whiting on talk-back-radio with 4BC host Gary Hardgrave and Courier Mail reporter Des Houghton (Listen to the podcast below the statement).
It's nice to know that the Mayor can keep bringing up a bad joke of the past. Hasn't he got any REAL policies to tout. The Mayor is a man who until recently implied that the people of Caboolture lived in the back blocks of the Moreton Bay Region. This is a man who has a bigger web of lies and deciet than Can do Newman. This is a man who only gets media time from his cousin Des Houghton, who again drags up things from the past. No other media outlet is interested in this blatent attack on another Mayoral candidate who stands up to Sutherland.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the 'Mayors" dealings with developers, why are there NO questions being asked about that.
My opinion is the current Mayor is running scared, but we will soon see his tactics in his televised election commercials which i am sure will be paid for by another one of his developer friends, and full of slanderous accusations that can't be proved.
