If the insurance payout was less than 10% of the cost to repair, then would that indicate that the Council is grossly under-insured? Wouldn't the $105 million for the Redcliffe rail link be better spent by the Council on improving these roads? I would hope that Council was focused on their responsibility for public safety and roads, and not using this as a political stunt to divert attention during the elections.
