Is there anything better than a comfy couch after a long day of travelling? Well it seems there is, and we found it at the Hepburn Bathhouse at the historic tourist drawcard of Hepburn Springs, at Daylesford in the Yarra Valley region. This historical bath house, which has been welcoming visitors since 1895, has devised the perfect solution to that sometimes pesky problem of floating in water. Imagine you are stretched out in a warmed mineral water pool, completely relaxed, except for the fact your legs just want to keep floating to the surface! Well, fear not, because the bathhouse has come up with the novel concept of an underwater couch complete with spa jets.

The underwater couches allow you to comfortably lay down under water, hooking your feet under the frame. Spa jets massage your body as you lay soaking up the mineral water. There are several different types of spas at the Bathhouse, including a salt pool, containing a high concentration of salt. If you feel like sweating it out, there is also has a steam room heated to 43 degrees Celsius.

You can choose to just stick to the communal mineral pools or spend a little extra for access to the steam room, salt pool and underwater spa couches. We chose the latter, for about $55 each. It comes with complimentary robes. After jumping in and out of every different spa, we were able to hit the road again feeling dangerously relaxed. It was amazing how mellow we were after the visit.
