#TripBlog: A quick look at The Twelve Apostles

When you return from a tour of The Great Ocean Road, you must be able to tell your friends you stopped to take in The Twelve Apostles. As we were travelling the road west to east, we had already seen enough crags, bluffs, coves , caves and sandstone towers in the sea to fill a photo album. But we still felt compelled to turn off at the Twelve Apostles sign.

We followed the fancy path leading the way to the sea and took the short walk to one of the lookout points. It was extremely windy and the ocean air was cold, which makes the splendour of the Apostles even more appreciable as it is these same forces that have shaped the famous rock stacks over centuries. It is a nice short walk, with lots of places to take photographs, or just watch the wild Southern Ocean batter the limestone cliffs. It was interesting to read that the Twelve Apostles were once named The Sow and Piglets.
