Bribie Island Storm Update
Looking across Bribie Island, there is plenty of evidence a severe storm is in play. And according to Bribie Island State Emergency Service (SES) Group Leader, Kriscopher Conroy, it isn't over yet...
SES volunteers have worked through the day filling sandbags along with other volunteers including Division One Councillor for the Moreton Bay Regional Council, Gary Parsons...

People in low lying coastal areas at risk during today’s high tide at 10am are encouraged to take action to secure their property and stay with friends and family away from the threat area if they are concerned.
If this is not an option, council has opened 3 evacuation centres:
* Bribie Island Rugby League Club – Entrance 1 - 156 First Ave, Bongaree
* Caboolture Memorial Hall – King Street, Caboolture
* Watson Park Convention Centre – Old Gympie Road, Dakabin

UPDATE 8.44pm: This thunderstorm is moving towards the northeast. This thunderstorm is forecast to affect Redcliffe, Caboolture, Mount Mee and Wamuran by 9:05 pm and Deception Bay waters, Bribie Island, Beerburrum and Woodford by 9:35 pm.

Flash Flooding Hits Brisbane
Cars were submerged as heavy rains turned Brisbane City and Fortitude Valley streets into rushing flood ways late yesturday. (See video at the bottom of this story)

It's set to be another tiring night for Queensland's flood-weary emergency crews with swollen rivers yet to peak. In Rockhampton in central Queensland the Fitzroy River is expected to peak sometime tomorrow.
Federal government says criteria for disaster relief funds will stay the same as last year to increase speed.
TWO Navy Sea King helicopters will be flown into Roma and barges are ferrying food to Rockhampton to help Queenslanders battered by floodwater.
