Council Secures Woodfordia's Future.
THE home of Queensland's iconic Woodford Folk Festival will be bought by a local council thanks to a deal to save the popular event from financial ruin.

Woodford Community - Floods
Woodford was completely isolated for part of the recent flooding.
The local Police Sergeant, Jason Renwick and Scout leader Michael Wallis, jumped into action.
They turned the community hall into an evacuation centre. This centre was responsible for looking after hundreds of people including those who couldn't get home, volunteers and emergency services taking a break from the harsh conditions in the field.

It seems that Moreton Bay Regional Council has had a wakeup call and is ready to boldly enter in to the new world of social networking.
Help The Riding For Disabled
The Riding For Disabled (RDA) centre in Burpengary got smashed by the recent floods. Everything was destroyed! All the equipment including electrical and computers were damaged beyond repair.
This centre is extremely important in the community, in a lot of cases it is the only physical activity disabled children get. The hard working volunteers come into the centre week in week out and are regularly moved when they are confronted by the disabilities and challenges these children have.
