You can't lead a cow downstairs!!!

It's Monday the 21st January, 2013 and on this day back in 1815 - The first road is completed over the Blue Mountains in NSW, under the direction of William Cox.

The joke of the day: There once was a dog named Tax. I opened the door and income Tax.

In the news: The Sunshine Coast Daily is reporting a HARDWARE shop owner Stephen Bardell works hard to make a crust, so when a hooded thug threatened him with a knife and demanded money, he had a simple response: "F*** off, mate, it's not going to happen".

With his heart pumping, the portly owner of Buderim Handyman Hardware, at the Wirreanda Shopping Complex on Buderim's King St, made extra sure his stern words were backed up by serious actions.

"I was just at the desk, looked up, and saw a young guy there with a six-inch long serrated steel knife," Mr Bardell said.

"He said 'Give me the money' and I said, 'F*** off mate, it's not going to happen'.

"He took off and I grabbed a mattock and ran after him."

The young thug, who was wearing a black and white hoodie, ran off past neighbouring shops before turning into Lavarack St, leaving Mr Bardell behind.

Did you know: It's possible to lead a cow up stairs but not down.

The random question of the day: How many times do you usually sneeze in a row?
