Update: Animal cruelty, Caboolture
Police have charged a man and a boy following investigations into the death of two alpacas at Caboolture in October.
It will be alleged around 5am on October 13, two males entered a Lee Street educational facility where the animals were housed and seriously injured the animals, killing one.
The other alpaca was euthanized later that morning.
It will further be alleged horses that shared the enclosure with the alpacas were moved out of the pen by the males but were not injured.
A 19-year-old Bellmere man and a 16-year-old Caboolture boy have both been charged with two counts of injuring animals and one count of trespass.
The 19-year-old is expected to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on January 29.
The 16-year-old will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992.
