Stabbing, Caboolture School


Update: A teenage boy has appeared in court charged over a schoolyard stabbing at Caboolture, north of Brisbane.
It is alleged the 16-year-old wounded a 14-year-old girl at St Columban's College yesterday morning.
She was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The boy appeared in a closed hearing at the Caboolture court house on an attempted murder charge.
He has been remanded in custody until July.


Update: Attempted murder charge, Caboolture 

Detectives from the Caboolture CPIU have charged a 16-year-old boy with attempted murder after an incident at a Caboolture school this morning. 

Police were called to the Duncan Street school around 7.30 following reports that a 14-year-old girl had allegedly sustained apparent stab wounds. 

The boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.

A 16-year-old boy, who voluntarily attended the Caboolture Police Station a short time ago, is currently assisting police with their investigations into an incident at a Caboolture school this morning.
Police remain at the school and investigations are continuing.
Police were called to St Columban's College at around 7.30 following reports that a 14-year-old girl had sustained apparent stab wounds.
The child has been transported to hospital and is in a stable condition with non life threatening injuries. Her family have been notified of the incident.
Both teenagers were students at the school.
The school is closed for the day and parents are welcome to collect their children. The school will however be able to supervise any children who are unable to be collected before 3pm.
The school will be open tomorrow.
