Joy Leishman I recall quite clearly senior staff coming to my office in last week prior to the 2008 election advising that the pay increase the Cr Chippendale had declined some months earlier,he was now requesteing be paid along with the back pay and transfers to his superanuation. I also remember the senior staff being quite dismayed by his request as he had enjoyed favouable publicity when he declined the pay rise. Given the nature of the request in the request in the last days of the Caboolture Council senior staff sought legal adivce. It is my understanding the increase and resulting pay was paid.
How do you not remember if you asked to get back paid from a pay rise you refuesed!
ReplyDeleteThats disgusting. Publicly decline a pay rise and then ask for it to be backpaid in secret. And anyone who has been back-paid knows its a decent chunck of change,. how can you forget that, what a liar i wish i lived in this division now so I could vote this jerk out

He was had a platform of vote for me and i will well and truely serve for 4 yrs/ 4 days later he was campaigning for State Parliament . I would not vote for a man who did this then and a decade plus i still would not

ReplyDeletewow, this is massive. And to think this idiot has been rubber stamping all the Alan Sullivan puts in front of him. Or will he forget his part in those misdemeanours as well. He is 1 of 2 things, as guilty as Sullivan or incompetent. Either way he is gone.

I see some people who have attacked this story have a section on their facebook page about their political outlook: we need to keep them all honest. Perhaps they should consider changing that given it seems there are some politicians apparently off-limits to questioning about the spending of public money. Asking a question about whether a politician took a payrise privately after publicly refusing it is not being deceitful. It is about exposing information the public should know. It is disappointing that some seem more interested in protecting this councillor than in the actual allegation itself. Keeping them all honest? Hardly.
ReplyDeletecooper1330 you don't think good do you, this story has been around for many a day, I first heard it from very reliable sources in Oct 2011. I would imagine if KJ as you put her, actually had any plans to use this politically, she would have done so long before this to get maximum mileage. Releasing this 5 days before the election is bad for Chippendale and only good for James if it is read and circulated very fast. If I was going to use it for political gain, I would have put this out when the councillors went into caretaker mode.
ReplyDeleteThis seams like a low selfish attack on a councilor which has been chopped and changed to suit an audience, I'm no audio expert but the context of the sound does seam a bit sus one min it sounds like a script then we cut back to a crackling line.... but then again why wouldn't i put faith in a reporter who now has to use his wife maiden name due to multiply failed business ventures in which many local Caboolture citizens are still fighting for compensation. Did Cr Chippendale even no he was being recorded ?????????

ReplyDeleteWow! This shows you can not under estimate the mighty dollar and the deceit with it! How can we believe that this man will be acting in our best interests when making crucial decision that will affect us. Shame Shame Shame.
