Councillor Whiting and Mark Ryan need to take a good hard look at themselves and this beautiful neighbourhood they might be representing one day. How would they like it if 400+ trucks ran past their house on a daily basis? Im sure they would have something to say about it then! Enough with money concerns and more about the residents concerns! We DO NOT want a super quarry in NARANGBA we have enough issues with the trucks from the current quarry. Im glad to see a community who is prepared to stand up for the community they love. Keep up the Good work Kay!
Overreaction much! lets look at your argument Brisbane Airport- In brisbane and no where near established communities- Trainline- people lost their homes forgive them for objecting I surely wouldn't just roll over and say nothing if that was me- Marina - again not a community setting- Shopping centre/ School- I have never heard of anything more ridiculous do schools produce pollution, unsafe road conditions and chemicals known to cause an arrangement of health issue. I think not! Sounds to me like another politician talking......go figure!... and if your not one maybe you should be because you have a jaded view on the community. If your saying people shouldn't stand up for what they love then you have issues my friend. Do you even live in Narangba? I do. Does this actually affect you at all? It affects me. Does your kids ride on the school bus down the pot hole Raynbird and settlement roads where trucks continue on a regular basis speed and drive unsafely? Mine do. If you really think there is a job shortage in Australia maybe you should get your facts straight. My grandmother could get a job if she really wanted one. They are not saying quarries are bad or not a necessity for the future. But the fact is we already have 3 quarries in the immediate area, the current quarries has enough to supply us for the next 50 years. The issue is not the quarry its the unsuitable location and lack of commitment by the government to commit to a haulage route to get the trucks off community roads. You want to Narangba be a Mining town??. Well stop developing housing estates contradicting otherwise. Narangba Heights is about to go in full of more families. Narangba is a family town. If the government was so set on building the truck haulage route maybe they should build it on condition before they start considering this proposal. Not maybe one day in the future! We have heard the promises before! If it wasn't for a community voice no one would even know about this issue. People are always going to object to public issues, they may not always win and get their way but that doesn't mean they don't have the right to.
